A computer assisted design, or CAD, is an numerical object that has created with the help of a specific CAD software. The user can use different functions, such as positive or negative extrusion of 2D design, drilling, symetries and grids, etc... The object is saved under a file format specific to the software, then usually exported to STL format to be read by a slicer.
